The presence of diamonds were confirm  by Peregrine  Diamonds (PPHM)   on  its six-hectare Chidliak exploration property in Nunavut, about 150 kilometers northeast of Iqaluit on Baffin Island.

The Peregrine  Diamond corporation also has properties in the Northwest Territories and Manitoba. The presence of possibly diamond-bearing kimberlite at Chidliak were discovered in July this year.

Peregrine said yesterday that processing of a 194.9-kilogram surface sample had yielded 191 diamonds larger than 0.075 mm, while a 100-kilogram sample yielded 44 diamonds. PPHM  said that the discovery is 700 kilometers from the nearest known deposit of kimberlite.
